Overview
Chefitt Blog (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates blog.chefitt.com. This page explains what information we collect when you visit our site, how we use it, how cookies and third-party advertising work on this site, and your rights regarding that information. We do not sell your personal data.
Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to operate the site:
- Usage data — pages visited, time on page, referring URL, browser type, and device type. Collected automatically via analytics tools and, where applicable, by our advertising partners to help us improve the site and serve relevant content.
- Email address — only if you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter via Substack. Newsletter subscriptions are managed by Substack and subject to their privacy policy.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see the dedicated “Cookies” section below for a full description of what is set, by whom, and how to opt out.
How We Use Your Information
- To understand how visitors use the site and improve our content.
- To send newsletters to subscribers (only if you opted in via Substack).
- To display relevant advertisements served by third-party advertising partners (see “Advertising” below).
- To maintain site security and prevent abuse.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes, with the exception of data passed to advertising partners as described below.
Cookies
We and our partners use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as web beacons and pixels) on this site. Cookies fall into three categories:
- Essential cookies — required for the site to function (e.g., remembering your cookie preferences). These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors interact with the site (e.g., which pages are most visited). Data is aggregated and anonymized.
- Advertising cookies — set by our advertising partners (such as Google) to serve relevant ads and measure their effectiveness. These include the DART cookie used by Google to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, opt out of personalized advertising through the Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies through the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page.
Advertising
This site may display advertisements served by third-party advertising networks, including but not limited to Google AdSense. These networks use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to:
- Serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- Measure ad performance and prevent ad fraud.
- Provide aggregate, non-personally-identifiable analytics to publishers like us.
Google is one such third-party vendor. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and other sites on the internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
For more information on how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps, visit Google's privacy policy. You may also opt out of third-party vendor cookies at the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
Third-Party Services
In addition to advertising partners, we use the following third-party services which may process data on your behalf:
- Vercel — hosting and edge network. May log request metadata for security and performance.
- Supabase — database hosting for blog content.
- Substack — newsletter delivery. Governed by Substack's privacy policy.
- Image hosts — Unsplash, Pexels, and other image CDNs. Images are served directly from their servers.
Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly. This site complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Data Retention
Analytics data is retained for up to 26 months. Advertising cookies have their own retention periods set by the network that places them (typically 30 days to 13 months). Newsletter subscription data is retained until you unsubscribe.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. California residents have rights under the CCPA. EU/UK residents have rights under the GDPR. To make a request, contact us at the address below.
